Liverpool returned to match action against Olympique Lyonnais in their opening game of the Dubai Super Cup on Sunday afternoon.
The Reds were beaten 3-1 in 90 minutes by the Ligue 1 outfit, who went on to claim a bonus point with a 5-3 win in the penalty shootout.
Fabio Carvalho had slotted home to give Jürgen Klopp’s men a first-minute lead at Al-Maktoum Stadium, but Alexandre Lacazette (two) and Bradley Barcola responded for Lyon.
