Start to the season
Oliver Glasner's reign as Forest head coach began with a 1-0 defeat at home to Leeds United.
The sides then met in midweek in the second round of the Carabao Cup, with Daniel Farke's men again leaving the City Ground with a victory.
Forest took part in nine friendlies during pre-season – including meetings with Barcelona, Bayer Leverkusen and Sporting CP.
Summer transfer business
Liam Delap became the fourth fresh face added to Glasner's squad during the current window on Thursday.
The centre-half Ousmane Diomande arrived from Sporting, while Xaver Schlager and Steven Benda joined on free transfers from RB Leipzig and Fulham respectively.
Elliot Anderson, Willy Boly, Omar Richards, Stefan Ortega, Angus Gunn and former Liverpool player Taiwo Awoniyi have left this summer.
Team news
Morgan Gibbs-White and Ryan Yates are expected to be back for the 12.30pm BST kick-off following brief lay-offs.
But midfielder Ibrahim Sangare has been ruled out with a calf injury sustained in training, joining Nicolo Savona on the sidelines.

Forest were beaten 1-0 in their most recent clash with Liverpool back in February.
Alexis Mac Allister's 97th-minute finish settled the affair at the City Ground.
But they enjoyed success on their last visit to Anfield in November 2025, winning 3-0 under the management of Sean Dyche.

"It's not the start we all wanted but it's sometimes life that things aren't going how you want them to go or how you expect them probably to go. But on the other side, it also gave us very important and good feedback on where we are right now. We have to work very hard and improve things to be better and be more competitive, and then we will get the results.
"Liverpool also had some changes with a new manager, Andoni Iraola, who has done an excellent job at Bournemouth. We know his style of play is very intense. I watched Liverpool's opener at Newcastle where they drew 2-2 but, to be honest, I think they could have won the game and were very dominant. Especially in the second half, [they] created enough chances to score more goals. Playing at Anfield is always great, it's a nice stadium, good atmosphere. But Nottingham Forest and myself, we have quite good records there and, of course, we hope we can continue these records."
