Official Liverpool Supporters Clubs (OLSCs) around the world joined together for LFC Foundation’s second ‘This Means More Challenge’.

Twenty-one OLSCs from across North America, Europe, Africa and Asia came together and supported their local communities through the power and passion of the LFC family. Every participating OLSC showed their creativity, commitment and pride in helping others through a series of 12 different challenges.

These included: encouraging their community to be more physically active, supporting local schools, sharing important life skills and volunteering with a local charity. We also encouraged fans to show their creative talents by producing fan art and writing new chants and songs for Jürgen Klopp.

A panel of five judges from across Liverpool FC, including LFC Foundation trustee Linda Pizzuti Henry and former player Chris Kirkland, had the difficult task of selecting this year’s winners.

We are delighted to announce the overall winner for the ‘This Means More Challenge 2021’ is OLSC Kuala Lumpur. Members hosted a community football training day, donated more than £1,200 of sports equipment and kit, planted 35 trees, created a Mighty Red model from recycled materials and donated more than 30 books and educational materials to a local school.

Judges also praised the work of last year’s winners OLSC Myanmar for finishing in second, and OLSC Madrid for coming in third place.

‘This Means More Challenge’ also recognises the individual efforts of our OLSCs with four special awards:

The Family Award: OLSC Kolhapur

Hosted a training session for 30 children from a local orphanage, followed by equipment donations of footballs and cones.

The YNWA Award: OLSC Japan

Created two separate pieces of fan art with their Mighty Red lanterns inspired by the traditional Aomori Nebuta festival.

The Original Award: OLSC Pune

Worked with a local organisation ‘Just for Kicks’ to run an U12s training session. Further to this, they also donated 60,000INR to purchase equipment and support the ongoing work of the charity.

The Impact Award: OLSC Kolhapur, Kuala Lumpur, Las Vegas, Madrid, Myanmar and Pune

These OLSCs all took part in challenge seven, Our Planet. In doing so, they all collectively planted trees in their local community.

Thank you to every OLSC that participated in this year’s challenge… see you all next year!
