Manchester United have entered the race with Liverpool to sign Wolves midfielder Joao Gomes, according to reports in Brazil.
United had agreed a £35 million deal to sign Ederson from Atalanta in June but cancelled the transfer on Friday due to concerns raised during the midfielder’s medical.
Michael Carrick is set to add one midfielder to his squad in the coming days as Andrey Santos is finalising his £50m move from Chelsea.
However, United remain in the market for a second central midfielder and according to Brazilian outlet Globo, an approach has been made to Wolves over a deal for Gomes.
The report adds that Liverpool have also held talks with Wolves to discuss a fee for their Brazilian midfielder.
