Maizie Trueman has become the youngest ever player to appear for Liverpool FC Women in a competitive fixture during the professional era.

Trueman made her debut for the Reds at the age of 16 years and 88 days by starting Sunday’s Adobe Women’s FA Cup tie at London Bees.

She beat the previous club record of 16 years and 150 days set by teammate Lucy Parry in October 2020.

The new record-breaker, an academy graduate for the Reds, featured for the whole of the 6-0 victory in the capital.
