Liverpool appear set to have Alexis Mac Allister available for Sunday's Anfield meeting with Arsenal in the Premier League.

The Argentinian midfielder missed the 3-2 win away at Newcastle United at the start of the week but has since returned to full training.

In terms of the Gunners, they will definitely be without Bukayo Saka and Kai Havertz on Merseyside, while the fitness of captain Martin Odegaard is being monitored.

Eberechi Eze could make his debut for the north London club in the 4.30pm BST kick-off, having completed a transfer from Crystal Palace last Saturday.

Other than Jeremie Frimpong (hamstring), Arne Slot reported a clean bill of health within his Liverpool squad on Friday morning.

The head coach told reporters: "I think the positive is that Conor Bradley only had one or two training sessions before the Newcastle game, he has trained this week the whole week – [well] not the whole week as there are still two days to go.

"Mac Allister has also started training again so I don't think we had any injuries coming out of that game [at Newcastle], no. And Virgil [van Dijk] is also OK."

Saka and Odegaard sustained injuries in Arsenal's home victory versus Leeds United in matchweek two.

Havertz has undergone surgery on a knee issue he picked up in their season opener at Manchester United.

"Bukayo is doing better but he will be out for a few weeks unfortunately," manager Mikel Arteta said at his pre-match press conference, also held on Friday. "No surgery [is required]. It's not as bad as the previous one.

"We don't know yet [about Odegaard]. He hasn't trained yet and if he does, it will be tomorrow. He's doing everything he can, we're doing everything that we can to make him available. But we'll have to wait and see tomorrow."

Asked whether Eze will feature, Arteta replied: "We have options in that position and that's a good thing that we have this year, so let's see. I'm not going to give you any clues obviously."

Christian Norgaard is yet to make a competitive appearance for Arsenal since his switch from Brentford earlier this summer.

Checks will also be made on the condition of the Dane and defender Ben White.

"That's another two that we don't know yet," the Gunners boss said. "Again, tomorrow we have another day, let's see how they evolve, and there's a chance to keep them involved in the game."

Gabriel Jesus remains sidelined with an anterior cruciate ligament injury from the beginning of 2025.
