Liverpool may have been handed the perfect opportunity to sign Lyon forward Rayan Cherki during the January transfer window.
Arne Slot's side have been widely linked with a move for Cherki in recent months, and it appears Lyon could be lining up a like-for-like replacement despite their current transfer embargo.
The Reds have moved silently towards the transfer window, not yet revealing their full intentions to stick or twist with the current squad Slot has at his disposal.
