Liverpool FC has been named External Company of the Year at the Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) Unitemps awards ceremony, celebrating the club’s exceptional contribution to student employability.

This season, LFC recruited a total of 16 paid internships across a variety of departments, including retail, communications, marketing, partnerships, event management and more, providing students with career-aligned opportunities.

Delivered through the community pillar of The Red Way – Liverpool FC’s sustainability strategy – the club is committed to facilitating workplace exposure and mentorship that goes beyond financial investment.

April Tomlinson, senior vice-president of people and culture at LFC, said: “The people and culture team is thrilled to receive this award on behalf of the club.

“Working with Unitemps has been incredibly rewarding, our interns have gained valuable experience in a unique and fast-paced industry, and in return they bring fresh perspectives and ideas that benefit so many at LFC.

“We’re proud to invest in future talent across the city and support their professional journeys.”

Marnie Blackman-Cook, branch manager at Unitemps, added: “Unitemps LJMU invest in students and graduates to enhance employability, and Liverpool Football Club has certainly helped our students enhance their skills relevant to their courses.

“Thank you Liverpool FC for your investment in our students, but more importantly your time is valuable to enhance employability across the Liverpool City Region.”
