NewsLiverpool FC earns double recognition for operational excellence
Liverpool FC has secured two prestigious awards, recognising exceptional operational standards across its multi-site footprint.
The LFC grounds team collected the Environmental & Sustainability Impact award at the 2026 Grounds Management Awards.
This accolade highlights the club's innovative and measurable approach to sustainability across five key sites, covering 339,500 square metres of elite playing and landscaped surfaces.
Guided by The Red Way, LFC's grounds team has transformed traditional grounds maintenance into a high-impact environmental operation, underpinned by industry-leading staff training and advanced technology.
In partnership with Husqvarna, electric robotic lawnmowers now manage 80 per cent of landscaped areas, reducing emissions by 97 per cent, the equivalent of planting 1,209 trees per year.
Wildflower meadows, orchards and pollinator-friendly planting schemes have also been introduced across the AXA Training Centre, Kirkby Academy, AXA Melwood Training Centre and Anfield. These initiatives have been seamlessly integrated into the club's operational landscape, enhancing biodiversity and creating habitats for bees, butterflies and other essential species to thrive.
The culinary team at Anfield was also recognised at the 2026 MIDAS Food Awards, receiving the award for Best Seasonal and Event Menus.
This recognition spotlights the creativity, innovation and excellence in menu development across the club's matchday and event offerings, underpinned by a cohesive, event-led strategy that elevates the guest experience.
LFC menus are thoughtfully curated to reflect the changing seasons, with dishes crafted to an exceptional standard for the stadium boxes, lounges and team travel.
Paul Cuttill, chief operating officer, said: "This recognition reflects the hard work and expertise of our internal teams across the club, who consistently deliver to an outstanding standard in everything they do.
"From the sustainable management of our grounds through The Red Way to the quality and variety of our culinary menus that we provide for supporters, guests and staff, this is a collective achievement that underlines the commitment and professionalism of our people."
