Gareth Taylor hopes Marie Höbinger and Leanne Kiernan will be available for Liverpool FC Women’s meeting with Manchester United.

The Reds host United at St Helens Stadium in the Barclays Women’s Super League on Sunday (12pm BST kick-off).

Höbinger missed the 5-0 win over Sunderland in midweek, while Kiernan was substituted after an hour of that victory in the Subway Women’s League Cup.

During Friday’s pre-match press conference, Liverpool head coach Taylor was asked for a team news update ahead of the clash with United and said: “Marie’s getting closer day by day so we will check in on her.

“We need to assess Leanne, hopefully she can train tomorrow. She came off with an inflamed foot, just from a kick, so hopefully those guys come back into contention but we’ll know a little bit more tomorrow.”
