CommunityLFC welcomes community back to Anfield for its annual Christmas carol service
Liverpool Football Club has welcomed the return of its annual Christmas carol service at Anfield.
LFC staff were joined by members of the local community to enjoy a festive and uplifting service led by club chaplain Bill Bygroves at the Reds Lounge in the Sir Kenny Dalglish Stand.
Three-hundred guests were invited to the Christmas Carol Service, including staff and pupils from local schools, young people and staff from local community groups, Red Neighbours’ participants and club employees.
The guests were treated to musical performances from the Liverpool Lighthouse Community Choir and rising singing star Sam Olyott. They also led guests in singing an array of popular carols including, Hark the Herald Angels Sing, Silent Night and O Come All Ye Faithful.
Poignant readings were delivered by Margaret Aspinall, staff and members of Red Neighbours' popular walking football group.
To end the service, the Liverpool Lighthouse Community Choir performed a special rendition of You’ll Never Walk Alone, after which guests enjoyed mince pies and mulled wine, which were kindly donated by the club’s official global partner, Monster Energy Company.
Club chaplain and Red Neighbours senior coordinator, Bill Bygroves, said: "We were delighted to be able to welcome the community back to Anfield for our annual Christmas carol service. It’s always a joy to bring people together to celebrate the magic of Christmas.”
