LFC Foundation has been honoured with the Best Community Scheme accolade at the Football Business Awards.

Judges described Liverpool FC’s official charity as a ‘sector-leading foundation’ delivering ‘huge social value’ that sets a benchmark for football-led community work.

Recognised among the industry’s most prestigious honours, the Football Business Awards celebrate excellence across the game, acknowledging the off-pitch work that plays an essential role in supporting clubs, communities and wider society.

The Best Community Scheme category highlights organisations committed to local communities through innovative action and strong measurable outcome data that underlines long-term social value.

In recognising LFC Foundation, judges praised its scale and reach both locally and internationally, highlighting its impact in tackling social inequalities and delivering meaningful change within communities.

During the 2024-25 season, LFC Foundation supported more than 145,000 people through the delivery of over 11,000 sessions and events. More than 58 per cent of participants were from the top 20 per cent most deprived areas in the country, while its programmes generated more than £80.32 million in social value across the Liverpool City Region over a 12-month period.

Judges described the submission as a ‘high-calibre, data-rich entry’ from a ‘major club foundation that sets a benchmark for scale and evaluation across the sector’.

LFC Foundation and the club’s official publication partner, Kodansha, also achieved silver in the Best Corporate Responsibility Scheme category for the Creative Works programme, which has engaged more than 400 young people across Liverpool and New York.

Focused on creating pathways into the creative industries, the programme has delivered more than 8,000 hours of sessions in media, photography, film and content creation, helping young people build confidence, develop skills and gain valuable industry experience.

Matt Parish, chief executive of LFC Foundation, said: “To receive the Best Community Scheme award and to receive recognition in the Best Corporate Responsibility Scheme category is a really proud moment for everybody connected to LFC Foundation. It defines the relentless commitment shown by our staff, volunteers and partners every single day.

“To come out on top in such a strong field is incredibly special. It’s recognition not just of the scale of our work, but of the impact our programmes continue to have on people’s lives both across the Liverpool City Region and internationally.”
