NewsKieran Morrison left feeling 'over the moon' after Northern Ireland debut
Kieran Morrison reflected on the 'proud' moment of representing Northern Ireland's senior team for the first time.
The 19-year-old received a debut cap for Michael O'Neill's side in their 1-0 win against Guinea on Thursday evening.
Morrison started the friendly in Spain and played the first half, with this latest career milestone arriving a little over a week after signing a new Liverpool contract.
Speaking after his international bow, the attacker said: "It felt great, to be honest. I've been waiting for this moment for a while.
"When Michael told me, I was over the moon. I'm just glad that I made it, and me and my family are very proud of this moment.
"When you just take every game as it is, it doesn't matter really the situation. Obviously before it you get quite a lot of nerves but as soon as the whistle goes, you just focus on the job at hand.
"Thankfully we got the win, we got a clean sheet, so it's a positive."
