Jenna Clark acknowledged 'that isn't acceptable' following a heavy defeat for Liverpool FC Women against Chelsea.

The Reds were beaten 9-1 by the Blues in Sunday's Subway Women's League Cup quarter-final at St Helens Stadium.

Four goals in a 20-minute spell during the first half put the visitors in control and they added a fifth early in the second half.

Clark then scored with a header from a corner, but Chelsea were on target four further times in response.

Read a summary of Clark's reaction to the match below.

On how she would assess Liverpool's performance...

Difficult. But I think we've only got ourselves to blame for that, we made it difficult for ourselves. That's all I've got to say on that part.

On getting a goal back in the second half...

It's difficult in that kind of game. The way the first half went, we didn't give ourselves much of a chance. And then in the second half, we did arguably worse than the first half. We know as a team that isn't acceptable and just to apologise to our fans for that.

On where the team goes from here...

We've got a break just now and I think that's really important. It is one game; it's a very, very tough game to take. We'll take a break and come back in the New Year.

On the message from head coach Gareth Taylor...

There's not much that needs to be said on his part. Us as players, we know ourselves. So, there wasn't much to say on that. Us as players know what needs to be done and know what can't be acceptable.
