Reaction'It's beautiful to score and help the team - I wanted to make an impact'
Aurélie Csillag fulfilled her objective of making an impact off the bench for Liverpool FC Women on Sunday.
With the Reds trailing 1-0 to Tottenham Hotspur, head coach Gareth Taylor switched his attack at half-time as Csillag replaced Beata Olsson.
The Switzerland international equalised with an excellent header from a Fuka Nagano cross within 15 minutes of her introduction.
Csillag nearly claimed a winner in the Barclays Women's Super League clash at St Helens Stadium too, but was thwarted by Spurs goalkeeper Lize Kop.
"I was very happy to come out, get some more minutes and help the team by getting a goal," the No.27 told Liverpoolfc.com post-match.
"It makes it even more beautiful if I can score and help this team, and I gave some energy on the pitch.
"It was a great ball in from Fuka. I saw her get the ball and I had made a run into the space and managed to head the ball in. It was a great feeling."
The 1-1 draw followed a 4-0 away victory over Charlton Athletic for Taylor's team at the outset of the new campaign.
They will look to maintain their positive beginning when they travel to Manchester City on Friday night (7pm BST kick-off).
"The head coach told me he wanted me to run at their defenders and bring some energy and try to make an impact," continued Csillag.
"I nearly scored again but the goalkeeper made a good save and I also thought we could have had a penalty when Vivien [Endemann] was brought down.
"As a team we feel we are in a really good place and want that to continue."
