Five Liverpool players were involved in international matches on Saturday.

Dominik Szoboszlai and Milos Kerkez were starters for Hungary in their 1-0 victory over Slovenia in a friendly.

Kerkez played 76 minutes of the affair in Budapest, while his Liverpool teammate was withdrawn in the closing stages.

There was defeat for Andy Robertson's Scotland, who were beaten by a single goal against Japan.

Robertson captained his nation for the opening 70 minutes of the contest at Hampden Park.

Elsewhere, Rio Ngumoha and Trey Nyoni started England U19s' 1-0 win versus Poland in a European Championship qualifier.
