Arne Slot offered an update on the fitness of five players ahead of Liverpool’s fixture with Wolverhampton Wanderers later this week.

The Reds are already without Alexander Isak for the Anfield encounter after the striker underwent surgery on Monday.

Elsewhere, Wataru Endo and Joe Gomez will miss the visit of Wolves due to respective fitness issues, while Conor Bradley and Cody Gakpo are rated as “50-50” by Slot.

He explained: “Conor will be 50-50. He’s not training with us today, not tomorrow, so Friday we will see exactly where he is [and] if he can be in the squad for the weekend.

“Joe won’t be available, Wata won’t be available [and] Cody is a bit similar to Conor.”

Slot did allay any fitness concerns regarding Florian Wirtz, however, with the No.7 in contention for the game.

Asked if the playmaker would be available, he replied: “Yes. Another example of a player who has to play a lot and is adjusting better and better and better to the Premier League.

“In an ideal world, I could have rested him a little bit more. He will be there for us again on Saturday.”
