Steven Gerrard has saluted Arne Slot’s ‘incredible’ achievement of leading Liverpool to the Premier League title at the first attempt.

The Dutchman’s maiden season as Reds head coach ended with a 20th championship success being added to the club’s roll of honour.

Indeed, Slot’s men were confirmed as the league winners with four games to spare, before lifting the trophy on the final day of the campaign at Anfield, where the iconic Gerrard was part of the crowd witnessing a moment of history.

Gerrard hailed the boss’ work as he explained why it was so impressive to observe.

“Incredible,” he told TNT Sports. “I think to follow in the footsteps of Jürgen Klopp and the job that he’s done, I think he’s fitted in seamlessly.

“Tactically, he’s been a breath of fresh air, and to win the league in your first year is an incredible achievement, so congratulations to him.”

Mohamed Salah was the spearhead of Liverpool’s season, providing a remarkable 34 goals and 23 assists from 52 appearances in all competitions.

Those figures have seen the No.11 collect a host of personal honours alongside his second Premier League winner’s medal, including the division’s Golden Boot and Playmaker prizes and Player of the Season accolade, and the FWA Footballer of the Year honour.

And supporters can, of course, look forward to watching more of the legendary Egyptian after he signed a new contract with the club in April.

Gerrard expects Salah to continue his talismanic form, saying of him: “Evidence suggests that he is very consistent. He’s scored goals every year he’s been at Liverpool.

“We all know his professionalism. He lives and breathes the game, he’s got the talent and he’s got the hunger to continue to do so, and I’ve got every confidence in him.”
