Ibrahima Konate commended the team effort that secured a 2-1 victory for Liverpool at Tottenham Hotspur.

The Reds punctuated a strong first half in Sunday’s Premier League contest with two goals, both dispatched in trademark style by Mohamed Salah.

But the hosts responded with heavy pressure after the break in the capital and halved their deficit when Harry Kane found the net.

Liverpool held firm to clinch three points, however, and post-match Konate explained the determination within the ranks to see the win out.

“We are 11 [on the pitch] and I think everyone helped each other and with that we won today,” the centre-back told Liverpoolfc.com.

“The last 10 minutes was very difficult for us, but I think we can see everyone was together and it was with that we won today.”

Press conferenceJürgen Klopp on 'massive' win at Tottenham, post-match celebrations, Salah and moreJürgen Klopp praised Liverpool's performance after his team claimed a 'massive' 2-1 away win over Tottenham Hotspur.

He added: “It’s a big win for the team, a massive win.

“Of course, we are very happy and I hope the fans are very happy as well. Now the game is behind us we have to be focused for the next two games before the World Cup, and we have to win the next two games to be more confident for [the rest of] the season.”

Konate made his second consecutive start for Jürgen Klopp’s team following the preceding 2-0 Champions League success against Napoli.

It was a satisfying week for the France international, whose campaign had previously been stalled by injury.

“Of course, I’m very happy,” finished the No.5. “I was injured for two months. Now I am back and happy because we won.

“We have to keep going like that and we have to work again, again and again – the season is long.”
