"Let's continue," said Hugo Ekitike after his two goals on Saturday made it back-to-back wins for Liverpool this week.

The Reds followed up their Champions League success at Internazionale in midweek with another victory and clean sheet, seeing off Brighton & Hove Albion 2-0 at Anfield.

Ekitike lashed home an opening strike inside the first minute of the Premier League clash and then delivered his and Arne Slot's team's second on the hour mark.

Read the Frenchman's immediate post-match reaction to the defeat of Brighton below...

On the afternoon's work...

I wouldn't say perfect, because I know could score more today. But obviously the most important thing was to win in front of our fans. So it's a good day at work, yeah.

On Liverpool's quick start in the game...

The ball came quick, I tried to be ready. Obviously when you start a game, you don't expect a ball to score to come in the first minute. But I try to be always ready, and that's good to start the game with 1-0.

On his second goal, a header from a Mohamed Salah corner...

Yeah, he gave me a great ball - I just had to be in a good place. That's what I did and [it was] easy to finish.

On the chance to score more on the day...

I was looking for the hat-trick! But it's going to be another time. But it's good, two goals.

On a good week for the Reds...

We try to stick together, work together. Even today, it wasn't easy. At the end of the game we had to stay compact, stick together, because when we are in that position it's difficult to get a result. Happy today, because I think we deserved [it]. We did a great week and let's continue.

On what the 'minimum requirement' is for Liverpool this season...

When you play for Liverpool you just have to win games. So, [it's] hard to answer. When you see the games coming, we are Liverpool [and] we need to win.
