Fuka Nagano and Risa Shimizu lifted the Women's Asian Cup after Japan defeated hosts Australia 1-0 in the final on Saturday.

Maika Hamano's 17th-minute goal was the difference in Sydney and saw Japan win the tournament for the third time.

Nagano played the entirety of the showpiece, which was attended by 74,397 spectators, while Shimizu was an unused substitute.

The Liverpool FC Women pair both made four appearances at the Asian Cup, each producing a pair of assists.
