NewsFlorian Wirtz named Liverpool Player of the Month for January
The No.7 claimed the prize for the first time since making the move to the Reds last summer.
He did so having appeared in all nine of the team's games across the month and started eight of those.
Wirtz supplied five goals and two assists, including strikes against Fulham, Barnsley, Burnley, Qarabag and Newcastle United.
Supporters duly voted the German as Player of the Month, ahead of Hugo Ekitike and Dominik Szoboszlai.
"Thank you. I'm very happy and it's nice to have my first Player of the Month award," Wirtz told Liverpoolfc.com. "I'm just happy and thanks to the fans.
"I would probably say the Newcastle game [was my highlight].
"First my assist and the goal together, because I think the assist was really important for the game to equalise and also to make the assist for Hugo. And then my goal was also quite nice."
Why fans voted for Wirtz...
Penny Evans: Quick feet, amazing playmaker and scores goals.
Adam Hudson: He has settled into the team and is now showing the talent he undoubtedly has.
Ron Tagg: Commanding presence, loads of creative play, assists etc. Starting to have a real influence on every game. Awesome.
Yahya Zamzami: I'm not sure whether he's a footballer or a magician. That's why he deserves Player of the Month.
Kalule Andrew: He's been playing excellently through the whole of January.
Kayleigh Williams: Amazing vision and great link-up play. Making the midfield tick.
