Florian Wirtz believes Liverpool have 'a good base to build on' as they seek a positive result from this weekend's visit to AFC Bournemouth.

"For sure we want to have more points at this stage. But I think it's still a good base to build on – let's try to keep going like that and get even more points."

On the 'momentum' gathered from the win over Tottenham and how he found watching in the stands...
Of course, I like more to be on the pitch! But it was the first time I watched it [a game] from higher in the stadium in the stands. It was nice to watch and also a good win for us and for the mind. That definitely helps to build the momentum.
On how he found experiencing Anfield as a spectator...
Yes, it was nice! I feel the atmosphere every week on the pitch and it was also nice to sit for one time with the fans and just experience it from this side.
On how he feels the team has adapted to Iraola's style of play in the early part of the season...
I think he has made his ideas very clear from the start. I feel that the team understands it more and more and we just make it better every week and in every game. I think it's going in a good direction.
On what the message has been from Iraola to his attacking players...
I think we had a few games where we could have scored more goals to win the game. I have also the expectations for myself to decide games. We need me and the attackers to finish the games off, so we definitely try to work on that.
On facing Bournemouth this weekend...
I played I think one time over there and it was already hard. My teammates told me before it's going to be a hard game but there are quite a lot [of those] in the league. It will be an intense game.
We have to be very ready. I think the manager knows them really well so maybe there's a small advantage we have – but we have to be ready and very focused for this game.
