Five more players have been added to the Liverpool FC Legends squad for the upcoming match against Borussia Dortmund Legends at Anfield.
Natasha Dowie, Dirk Kuyt, Louise Schillgard, Martin Skrtel and Vladimir Smicer are the latest confirmed names who will play in the match on Saturday March 28 (3pm GMT kick-off).
Liverpool FC Women ambassador and record goalscorer Dowie will be joined by ex-teammate Schillgard, who will make her debut for LFC Legends.
Forwards Dowie and Schillgard were part of the Reds squad that won back-to-back Women’s Super League titles in 2013 and 2014.
Kuyt, who made 285 appearances for Liverpool, returns, along with Skrtel – who played 320 times for the club – and 2005 Champions League winner Smicer.
The quintet join the players already announced as being part of LFC Legends’ squad, including Steven Gerrard, Sami Hyypia and Pepe Reina.
Meanwhile, the Reds’ management team for the LFC Foundation charity game will consist of Sir Kenny Dalglish, Jürgen Klopp, Ian Rush and John Aldridge.
As always, all proceeds from the fixture – supported by AXA and held in association with Forever Reds – will go directly towards the work of LFC Foundation and Forever Reds, the club’s official former players association.
Funds raised will support LFC Foundation’s employability programmes, which help people across the community to find work, gain qualifications and develop new skills through mentoring and training.
The game will also contribute to the Foundation’s long-term strategy and its ambition to support 500,000 people a season by 2030.
