Eleven players have now been confirmed to represent Liverpool FC Legends against Chelsea FC Legends next month.

Goalkeeper Pepe Reina is set to make his first appearance for LFC Legends in the fixture at Stamford Bridge, which will take place on Saturday October 11 (kick-off 3pm BST) in support of both clubs’ official charities.

Reina made almost 400 appearances for the Reds after joining from Villarreal in 2005, winning the FA Cup, League Cup and UEFA Super Cup during his spell at Anfield. The Spaniard also claimed the Premier League Golden Glove award for most clean sheets in three consecutive seasons from 2005-06 to 2007-08.

He will be joined by fellow shot-stopper Sander Westerveld, who was part of Liverpool’s famous treble-winning season in 2000-01.

Defenders Fabio Aurelio, Martin Kelly, Ragnar Klavan and Martin Skrtel will also participate, while in midfield will be Yossi Benayoun and Jay Spearing, and up front Ryan Babel, Natasha Dowie and Robbie Keane.

More names will be added to the Reds’ squad in the coming weeks.

As announced earlier this month, the LFC Legends team will be led from the dugout by Ian Rush, John Aldridge, Phil Thompson and Sammy Lee.

The match, in association with Forever Reds, will see all proceeds raised support the life-changing work of LFC Foundation and Chelsea Foundation.

Last season, LFC Foundation supported more than 145,000 people. The club’s official charity helps tackle social inequalities in its communities through programmes that have a positive impact on health, learning and employment outcomes.

Tickets for the match are priced at £35 for adults and £17.50 for concessions and can be purchased at ticketing.liverpoolfc.com.
