Popular Liverpool picks, value-for-money and differentials
During pre-season, several Liverpool players caught the eye under new head coach Andoni Iraola for their FPL potential.
Florian Wirtz (£7.5m) could be a great option for managers. The midfielder scored two goals in three pre-season appearances, which follow on from his five goals and four assists in the league during the 2025-26 campaign.
During pre-season, Wirtz played in the number 10 position, almost as a second striker, alongside forward Alexander Isak (£9.0m).
This positioning could lead to an uptick in goals and assists from the German under Iraola and, in doing so, would make his £7.5m FPL price tag extremely attractive.
Isak only started eight matches in the league for Liverpool last season due to injury.
However, he offers FPL managers a route to owning the player leading the line for the division's fourth-highest scoring team last season.
Ahead of his move to the Reds last summer, Isak was the highest FPL points-scoring forward in 2024-25.
He registered 211 points from 23 goals, six assists and 36 bonus points. With the potential for penalty responsibility too, Isak is a great option for FPL managers.
Jeremy Jacquet (£5.0m) looks like the best value-for-money pick from the Liverpool defence after an excellent performance against Como 1907 in pre-season.

However, if FPL managers have an additional £0.5m to spend, then Milos Kerkez (£5.5m) and Jeremie Frimpong (£5.5m) both offer great regular attacking threat down the flanks.
Both have registered assists in pre-season and both created on average at least one chance per 90 minutes during the previous Premier League season.
Captain Virgil van Dijk (£6.5m) also remains an outstanding pick with plenty of clean-sheet potential as well as attacking threat, especially from set-pieces.
Player spotlight: Dominik Szoboszlai (£7.0m)
Dominik Szoboszlai looks the standout Liverpool FPL pick heading into Gameweek 1.
The Hungary international is the fourth-most popular pick in the game overall and is currently found in more than 41 per cent of FPL teams.
During pre-season we have, at times, seen Szoboszlai in a deeper position, which could be off-putting for FPL managers. However, his set-piece responsibilities give him plenty of routes to FPL points.
Indeed, Szoboszlai has registered the most attacking returns across the Liverpool team during pre-season.
Last season, Szoboszlai registered 160 FPL points. This was only bettered in the Reds team by Van Dijk.
His 78 chances created was the second-most across the Premier League, with the midfielder also top for crosses at Liverpool with 205.
Szoboszlai also created 14 big chances last season, which was more than any other player at the club, and he had 71 shots on goal, with only Cody Gakpo (£7.0m) in the Liverpool squad posting better.
However, it is not just his attacking threat that makes Szoboszlai a great FPL pick.
He also returned 20 defensive contribution points for his owners, as well as 21 bonus points and nine clean sheet points.
