Liverpool set a new club record for comebacks in the Premier League era with Sunday’s 2-1 win over Brighton & Hove Albion.
The Reds trailed to the Seagulls within two minutes of kick-off at Anfield as Danny Welbeck found the net from the edge of the area.
But Luis Diaz got the hosts back on terms before the interval and Mohamed Salah then perfectly finished off a slick passing move in minute 65.
The turnaround, which took Liverpool to the top of the table, was Jürgen Klopp’s side’s seventh victory from a losing position in the league this season.
The Reds had previously recovered from a deficit to beat AFC Bournemouth, Newcastle United, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Fulham, Crystal Palace and Luton Town.
The tally of seven wins from behind is the club’s most ever in a single Premier League campaign, bettering the six achieved each in 2008-09, 2019-20 and 2020-21.
