Stan Palk was a wing-half who arrived at Anfield after playing for South Liverpool.

<p>He made six league appearances for the Reds in the second half of the 1946-47 season, the first post-war championship, which eventually went to Liverpool after they saw off one of their rivals, Wolverhampton Wanderers, in the final match at Molineux.</p><p>Palk was called upon seven times the following season but then moved on to Port Vale in July 1948.</p>
