Stan Palk was a wing-half who arrived at Anfield after playing for South Liverpool.
He made six league appearances for the Reds in the second half of the 1946-47 season, the first post-war championship, which eventually went to Liverpool after they saw off one of their rivals, Wolverhampton Wanderers, in the final match at Molineux.
Palk was called upon seven times the following season but then moved on to Port Vale in July 1948.
