Mahmoud Dahoud is a man in demand.

The German midfielder was a top target for Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp in the summer, and has reportedly also attracted interest from Italian champions Juventus and Manchester City.

Borussia Moenchengladbach insist that Dahoud is going nowhere in January, but reports in Italy say that Juventus could still try to convince the Bundesliga side to sell.

The report, in Calciomercato, explains that Klopp will have some convincing to do if he wants Dahoud to turn down the Serie A side and move to Anfield.

Dahoud has just 18 months to run on his current deal, and it has been reported that he could leave Gladbach for as little as £8m next summer.

Max Eberl, sporting director at Gladbach, insisted that the club are still negotiating with the German U21 midfielder over a new deal.

He said: “If the contract in the summer only has this one year remaining, you must automatically consider what has to be done. But today it’s pure speculation.

"Our desire is to prolong the contract, which is beyond question. So far this has not happened, but we are constantly talking.”
