Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing Boca Juniors attacker Cristian Pavon this January transfer window.

Danny Ings will be unavailable for Jurgen Klopp until next season after suffering another serious knee injury.

And Klopp will also be without Sadio Mane for a month when he heads to the Africa Cup of Nations with Senegal in January.

That leaves Klopp light of back-up options in Liverpool's attacking positions and Football Whispers understand that they are keeping their eye on Boca Juniours winger Cristian Pavon.

The 20-year-old represented Argentina at the Rio 2016 Olympics this summer where he played in three matches.

The diminutive forward has been on excellent form this season for the Argentinian club having scored eight goals in 13 matches.

Reports have also suggested that Liverpool could turn their attentions to FC Rostov striker Sardar Azmoun.

The 21-year-old has impressed in the Champions League this season and scored against Atletico Madrid last week.
