AC Milan and Napoli are both working hard to make sure Liverpool target Piotr Zielinski remains in Italy this summer.

Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is hoping to secure a deal for the Poland star once he has finished at Euro 2016 in France.

It has been reported that Liverpool have already lodged a formal bid, thought to be around £11m, for the winger but that his current club Empoli are holding out for more money.

And now there could be a bidding war for Zielinski after both AC Milan and Napoli joined the race to land him this summer.

The 22-year-old has been on the Reds' radar ever since he was a teenager at boyhood club Orzeł Ząbkowice Śląskie, but he moved to Italy aged 17 when he joined Udinese.

He went on to make 19 Serie A appearances for the Serie A side before he agreed a two-year loan switch to Empoli in 2014, during which he made a total of 63 league outings, scoring five goals.

Zielinski is due to return to Udinese ahead of the forthcoming campaign but could be on his way straight out with a three-way chase for his signature now hotting up.
