Liverpool have reportedly made an approach to seal the transfer of Barcelona right-back Aleix Vidal.

The Reds are aware of the Spaniard’s desire for more first-team football, and Jurgen Klopp is seemingly ready to bring him to Anfield this summer.

However, a deal looks unlikely as Barca plan to use Vidal as their replacement for the departing Dani Alves.

And according to Mundo Deportivo, the Catalan giants will not consider selling the 26-year-old for less than his £45million release clause.

Vidal shone at former club Sevilla, prompting Barcelona to sign him for £13million last year, though he has struggled to establish himself as a regular in his first season at the Nou Camp.
