Everton and Liverpool will lead the chase for French striker Alexandre Lacazette this summer.

Both clubs have monitored the progress of the 24-year-old Lyon star Lacazette, who went into this weekend’s matches level with Paris Saint-Germain’s Edinson Cavani for joint-second in the Ligue 1 scoring chart.

The two Merseyside rivals look certain to need a boost to their respective strike-forces next season.

Lacazette’s price will be around £22million, with Lyon in a strong position after he signed a five-year deal with the club last year.
