Mario Gotze wants to reunite with Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool, according to reports.

Gotze has been linked with a move away from Bayern Munich after it was revealed he has a poor relationship with manager Pep Guardiola.

The 23-year-old has made just 12 appearances in all competitions this term and is reportedly a target for Arsenal and Liverpool.

However, according to The Mirror, the Germany international's preferred destination is Anfield so he can team up with former boss Klopp.

The report claims Bayern are fearful he could leave and the Reds boss is reportedly keen to have him at Anfield.

It's said the German club will want to recoup much of the £30million they paid Dortmund in 2013, however, time is not on their side.

Gotze has just 12 months to run on his current deal, meaning Liverpool could arrange a cut-price deal if the 23-year-old is set on leaving.

The attacking midfielder made 83 Bundesliga appearances for Dortmund, scoring 22 goals and was one of Klopp's star players.

Gotze has won four Bundesliga titles, was runner-up in the 2012/13 Champions League and scored the winning goal in the 2014 World Cup final for Germany.
