Mohamed Salah increased his sensational goal tally to 28 this season with a fine double against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday – and continued to set new club records in the process.

Having pounced on a loose backpass to give Liverpool the lead at Anfield in the third minute, the Egypt international struck a Goal of the Season contender with 91 on the clock by wriggling around three defenders inside the box and prodding a finish over Hugo Lloris.

Salah’s brace was not enough for all three points for the Reds, as a frantic conclusion to the Premier League clash saw the game end 2-2, but it did notch up yet another landmark for the unstoppable forward.

So, here’s a recap of the records that have tumbled since the No.11 arrived at Anfield last summer…

He reached five Premier League goals in nine games, the third-quickest player to achieve the feat for the Reds and also third-quickest in minutes (616).

Salah bagged nine goals in his first 12 league games, beating Robbie Fowler’s record of eight in 12.

The Egyptian equalled the club record by scoring a 10th Premier League goal in his 13th game, against Chelsea.

The No.11 became only the ninth Liverpool substitute in league history to score twice in a game (at Stoke City) and the first to do it away from home in 21 years.

Salah is the first LFC player since Ian Rush in 1986 to score 20 goals before Christmas, having reached the mark at Bournemouth. He also became the fourth-quickest by date to reach 20 and the joint-second-quickest to reach the landmark in games (26).

He is the scorer of the third-highest number of goals for the club before Christmas: 21.

The 25-year-old equalled the club record of 23 goals in a season before New Year with his brace at home to Leicester City.

Salah reached 25 goals for the Reds in the third-fewest number of games, 32, against West Bromwich Albion in the FA Cup.

He reached 20 league goals in the joint-fourth-fewest number of games in club history, 25, on Sunday.

Salah struck 20 Premier League goals in the fewest number of games: 25.
