Jordan Henderson believes Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur share an ambition to win every time they take to the pitch - making games between the two sides 'fantastic' to be part of.

The Reds host Spurs on Sunday afternoon, with just two points separating the teams in the Premier League standings.

And, in his column for today's edition of 'This is Anfield', Henderson writes that he is expecting an 'electric' atmosphere in L4 for what could be a crucial match in the fight to finish in the top four.

"This afternoon is as tough as it gets because Tottenham are a brilliant side with a world-class manager leading them. I know quite of few of the Spurs lads because we are teammates with England, so I’ve seen their quality first-hand," the captain notes.

"The way they’re led and set-up as a team also gives them confidence and belief to be on the front-foot at all times. I think there’s similarities between the two clubs in that regard. And like us they’ll look at the remainder of the season and think there’s everything to play for.

"We can’t ignore what happened at Wembley earlier in the season either. On that day they performed and we didn’t and the outcome for us wasn’t good. Spurs are too smart to think it’ll be the same for them today, particularly at Anfield, so I’m sure they’ll be ready for our response.

"These are fantastic games to be involved in because it’s two teams going all out to win. Given how good the atmosphere has been inside Anfield recently I know today the feeling inside the ground will be electric.

"As always, though, we know it’s on us to inspire the supporters, not the other way round."
