Jürgen Klopp has lavished further praise on the improving Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and promised that there is even more to come from the midfielder at Liverpool - specifically, goals.

The 24-year-old started just one of the 11 games that followed his deadline-day arrival from Arsenal but has grown in influence as the season has progressed.

Sunday's 4-0 win at Bournemouth featured Oxlade-Chamberlain's most impressive performance for the Reds to date, an outing that earned him man of the match recognition.

And Klopp is delighted with how the former Southampton academy graduate has taken to life at Anfield.

"He had to adapt, of course, but he did well from the first day," the manager told reporters.

"I know how it is, if you are a kind of big signing, then everybody expects you immediately on the pitch and when you are on the pitch then you have to perform immediately.

"But it's difficult, a lot of things are difficult. You cannot just play, you don't know your teammates - he knew a lot of them from the national team but it’s all different.

"I was happy from the first day about his involvement and attitude and since then he became more and more a Liverpool player.

"So far, we were lucky he could be part of all the sessions so he is really fit.

"You could see it at Bournemouth, there was not one second where you thought maybe he is now a little bit tired. He looks in really good shape.

"He is just on a good way; [he's] a good lad, I'm happy to have him around, he's fantastic in the dressing room and he's really, really good on the pitch as well so that makes him a nice package."

There is, however, one area in particular where Klopp believes the former Arsenal man can kick on.

He added: "I think the biggest potential he still has is being involved in goalscoring situations because he has [the ability] in himself, it's unbelievable.

"But he was not asked for this too much I think in the past. If you watch Arsenal in the past the two decisive players were Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil in a lot of moments.

"[That means] you are not that involved but here we put a lot more on his shoulders and if he is on the pitch he needs to be involved in [goal] situations as well.

"I'm fine for the moment, it's all good, but I see also a lot of space for improvement as well - that's good."

Oxlade-Chamberlain's start to his Reds career could be categorised as something of a slow burner if compared to fellow summer signing Mohamed Salah.

But Klopp believes the timing of the pair's arrivals - one in early July, the other on the final day of August - explains the difference in terms of their settling in period.

He continued: "[Mohamed] came in the pre-season, that was the big difference. If Alex had been here in the pre-season, it would have been completely different.

"Alex came in the middle of the season that's why I don't like these late transfers but that's how it is.

"He needed to adapt in a much more busy time when you don't have time to talk to one player much more than to all the others because you are already in the middle of the season.

"Mo came in and it was smooth, it just happened. We went to different camps, the boys were together all the time. That helps for settling in, of course.

"That's the biggest difference. There's no difference between Ox and Mo - I think Ox would have needed less time than Mo and he was already quick."
