Jürgen Klopp has revealed that Adam Lallana and Joel Matip are both giving 'good signs' in their respective bids to return to full fitness.

Lallana recently came back into full team training having been absent since the pre-season period due to a thigh injury picked up during a friendly meeting with Atletico Madrid in August.

Matip, meanwhile, has missed the Reds' last two outings due to a knock picked up in training but was spotted back out on the Melwood pitches with his teammates as preparations for the weekend clash with Chelsea continued on Thursday.

Speaking at his press conference to preview that fixture, Klopp said of the pair: "Adam is on his way, no doubt about that. We have to see how we will handle this in the next few days and weeks.

"Joel trained yesterday for the first time with the team and, again, we have to to see as well.

"But both give good signs - nothing else to say about that in the moment."

When probed further on whether Lallana would make the squad for the first time since his comeback, the boss added: "I don’t want to talk about this here. If I have anything to say about that I will talk to the player first. We will see."
