What are your feelings ahead of the new season?

It is hard not to be excited whilst Conte is in charge, but I am far from getting carried away. Most of the big sides seem to be strengthening and now we are back in Europe this season I have some doubts about whether our squad can mount a challenge on all fronts.

How pleased have you been with your transfer business to date?

Morata is a promising young player but we have form for spending a lot of money on strikers who don’t perform in the Premier League, so it seems to be a bit of a gamble. Bakayoko is an upgrade on Matic, whilst Rudiger’s versatility could be key. Ideally we will get one or two more players before the window closes…

On a side note, I was gutted to see Chalobah go, I thought he may finally be the young player to break through to the first team.

How is your team likely to line up?

Courtois
Alonso - Moses/Azpilicueta as wing-backs
Cahill - Luiz - Azpi/Rudiger in a back three
Kante - Bakayoko
Hazard - Morata - Willian

Who will be your most important player?

On his day Hazard is one of the best in the world so getting him back to full fitness and in top form will be crucial, but if we are to have a chance of a run in Europe and/or retaining the league then we will need Kante to emulate what he achieved last season.

Who is the unsung hero in your squad?

It has to be Pedro. His work ethic is incredible and although he may not have nailed down a starting position he has scored some massive goals and can be a game-changer coming off the bench.

What do you expect from Liverpool this season?

A lot of that will depend on the remainder of the transfer window. Although Salah seems to be a good signing (unlike when we bought him!), Liverpool haven’t strengthened in the same way the clubs around them have, which could make securing a top-four position difficult.

If you could have one Liverpool player in your team, who would it be?

It’s very hard to see past Coutinho because he is a brilliant player but I think Mane would fit into our side beautifully.

Top four (in order)?

City
Chelsea
United
Arsenal

Relegated?

Swansea
Brighton
Huddersfield

Surprise package?

There is always a question whether the promoted teams will stay up, but I think Newcastle will do well and secure their Premier League status comfortably.

What is your biggest wish for the season?

After a year in the European doldrums, a good run in the Champions League would be incredible. Hopefully with away trips to somewhere sunny!
