Danny Ings made the latest step on his road to full fitness on Saturday morning by joining his teammates in running exercises at Melwood.

It was the striker’s first session alongside the rest of the Liverpool squad since sustaining a knee injury against Tottenham Hotspur in the League Cup last October which subsequently required surgery.

Ings remained at the club’s training ground for most of the summer to continue his rehabilitation programme.

The 24-year-old is not ready to return to full training as yet and still has work to do before he can be considered fully fit, but as the photographs below show, he is continuing to make good progress in his recovery.
