Kevin Stewart has lifted the lid on his working relationship with Jürgen Klopp, providing insight into how the Liverpool manager ensures his game continually improves.

Since returning from a loan stint with Swindon Town to make his Reds debut at the turn of the year, Stewart has established himself as an important member of the first-team squad at Anfield.

The midfielder's progress since being exposed to Klopp's fastidious coaching methods has been marked, and he has now explained how his development has been overseen by the boss.

"We don't have intense talks every day," he told Liverpoolfc.com.

"We'll have talks and then he gives me time to work on it, and then maybe in a week or two weeks he'll come back again and talk about how things have been going and what he wants me to change or improve on.

"The main thing is for me to show what I'm good at – I don't try to be someone else, that's the main thing."

Stewart has made five senior appearances in all competitions so far this term and his aims for the future remain clear.

"To keep improving as a player, to be ready for when the first team call me up or need me if there are injuries," he added.

"And then in the future, just try to improve and become one of the regulars.

"The main thing I wanted was to be here every day so I could show the staff here what I could do."
