Sadio Mane was 'satisfied' with his first Anfield goal for Liverpool on Saturday - but the forward still sees room for improvement after the resounding 4-1 win over Leicester City.

The Reds celebrated the opening game at their newly-redeveloped home in style, with Mane's clever finish - along with a Roberto Firmino double and Adam Lallana's sweet strike - earning a comprehensive victory over the Premier League champions.

Jürgen Klopp's side were in complete command when the Senegal forward put them 2-0 up shortly after the half-hour mark, and they continued to dominate even once Jamie Vardy pulled a goal back for the Foxes before half-time.

However, the No.19 feels there is more to come from Liverpool this season.

“Everybody's really happy. It was important for us to win,” Mane told Liverpoolfc.com.

“I don't think it was our best game but we deserved to win because we created many chances. We could have scored two or three more goals but I think everybody is satisfied with the performance.”

Daniel Sturridge's sublime back-heel set Mane up to lift the ball over Kasper Schmeichel to put the Reds two goals to the good, and the 24-year-old was quick to praise the qualities of his teammate and Man of the Match Firmino.

“I think it was easy for me to adapt my football to them because they are very, very fantastic footballers so it was easy for me to play with them. I'm happy for that,” he added.

Mane was also asked about the impact the extra 8,500 home fans in the new Main Stand had on the atmosphere at Anfield.

“I think they played a very good part for us, they helped us through the difficult times,” he replied.

“We are very happy with that and I think they'll help us until the end of the season.”
