Danny Ward believes Huddersfield Town is the 'perfect place' for him to continue progressing during a season-long stint away from Liverpool.

The 23-year-old is in the early stages of a loan stay with the Championship outfit, who are managed by Jürgen Klopp's old friend David Wagner.

The German duo worked together closely during their stints in charge of Borussia Dortmund's first and second teams respectively and share a similar tactical outlook, according to Ward.

And the Wales international, who has helped Town win the first two fixtures of their league campaign this term, expects the close relationship between Klopp and Wagner to be beneficial to his cause.

"For myself personally, Huddersfield is the perfect place," he said.

"The way the manager wants to play football is very similar to how my parent club play.

"I know the managers are friends and they are obviously going to speak a lot, which is a good thing for myself.

"I don’t mind them talking about me as long as it means I’m doing well!"

The Wrexham-born shot-stopper also explained how he has been made to feel welcome at his loan club by a tight-knit squad.

"I joined the squad a bit later than some of the other lads because I was away with Wales," he continued.

"What struck me soon was how together the group was. All the boys are close and there’s a good spirit.

"There are no egos in the dressing room, all the boys get on really well and we are pushing each other every day in training."
