Jürgen Klopp insists Liverpool's pairing with Burton Albion in the EFL Cup second round is far from a 'dream draw' as he outlined his intention to try to lead the Reds all the way in the tournament this season.

The boss discovered on Wednesday night he will be taking his squad to the Pirelli Stadium later this month for the tie with the Championship side as they aim to go one better in the competition this year having been beaten in last term's final at Wembley.

It'll be the first ever competitive meeting between the clubs and Klopp told Liverpoolfc.com: “I don't think it's a 'dream draw' when you have a Championship team away from home, but it's the job we have to do and we showed last season that we really respect this tournament.

“There is one open question in this tournament, 'what do we have to do to win the final?'

“If we want to go to the final, we have to go through all the rounds before.

“This is the first round for us and you don't have a choice [who you play], so you cannot moan or be happy about an opponent. You have to take it and that's what we will do.”
