Divock Origi has called on Belgium to believe in their own ability when they try to reach the Euro 2016 quarter-finals by beating Hungary on Sunday.

The striker is one of three Liverpool players in Marc Wilmots’ squad for the tournament in France, alongside Christian Benteke and Simon Mignolet.

Back-to-back victories over Republic of Ireland and Sweden carried the Belgians into the last 16 following a setback in their opening game against Italy.

But Origi dismissed any suggestion of his country being the favourites in Toulouse tomorrow and instead highlighted the necessity for another strong performance.

He said: “We are training for this game as usual. We are staying calm.

“We will determine a strategy with the coach. We all want to play a great match. It will be an interesting match for us.

“Personally, I think that there is no favourite in football. We have to prove our qualities. We have to believe in us. And they will believe in them. So it will be a good game. Of course, we hope to win this match.

“They are a really brave team. The players are not afraid. They fight for each ball. It won’t be easy, they have players with a lot of qualities.”
