Just a matter of hours after his side had reached the Europa League final, Jürgen Klopp was back at Melwood to preview Sunday's Barclays Premier League clash against Watford with a press conference for reporters - read on to see what else the boss had to say...

On the injured players remaining upbeat and maintaining a good team morale...

It's absolutely helpful. To be honest, I'm a really nice guy, but if you complain in the wrong moment with the wrong words, that's pretty sure the only possibility to get a real problem with me because it's all about the team. As long as you understand this, it's brilliant. And when you show me that you do not understand this game as what it is - a team game - then maybe we need a few talks or something like this because everybody, or most people I know, are able to learn even in this case.

On Liverpool's Europa League form compared to the Premier League...

I don't think there's the biggest difference, to be honest. It's a little bit about timing, a little bit about luck in the specific moments. We had similar games in the Premier League, not in a row, but 2016 is a quite successful year for Liverpool, for my team. The Europa League gives us the opportunity to maybe qualify for the Champions League, but on the other side it costs us the opportunity in the Premier League to qualify for the Champions League because of the number of games we've had, getting to the final in the Capital One Cup and all this stuff with the injury circumstances we had. So I'm sure there was no difference in attitude with [the] Premier League, Europa League or another tournament. These boys always give their all and sometimes it was not 100 per cent because they couldn't - that's how it was. I'm really looking forward to the pre-season, for each session we will have, because it will make us stronger, it will make us fitter. You need a little bit of luck, like you saw with the most successful Premier League teams this year on the injury side. If you can train often enough then you can be a strong side. We can then be a really strong side, I saw this and I see it still. These boys gave me a lot of really, really nice things or nice tips I saw [that] there's really something in this team. The Europa League was special because of the knockout tournament - there are no draws usually allowed so you need to come through and you need to play your best. I saw it always that we tried to in the Premier League, not at Swansea or not at Watford, I didn't forget these games. For me, the game on Sunday is quite important because maybe it is possible to play one time against a team under our usual level, but it's not allowed to do it twice. So we have to try together that we can show a better face against Watford.

On the progress made by the team since his arrival in October...

I'm not too surprised because I never thought about where we could be at the end of the season, or at the end of our time that we will hopefully have together. I never thought about this because it's all about change, it's all about development, it's all about training, it's all about improvement. I'm really pleased for the boys because it is important to know that work helps, but it is better to see that it's really true - and these boys have seen that it's really true. The work together and what we did together and how their attitude and how it helps to develop. I'm really pleased for them because it's deserved. Each good game is deserved, each not so good game is for development too - you don't want to have it, but if you can use it with the right information then it can really help. That's what we try to do all time and that's what the boys are ready for. They want to hear what was good, what was not that good and they tried to change and that's the best thing when you work together.

On the impressive front play in recent months...

One of my rules in football is that it's always a sign of a good game when there's a cross and you have minimum of four players in the box - it's always a sign of a good game. It doesn't mean you win, but it's always a sign that you know why we do what we do because it's all about preparing moments to score goals. It's not that we only play football because we like to have the ball or to pass the ball or something - it's about scoring goals. I don't think it's too difficult to achieve this but the players need to have these common movements that you know when 'this' player is 'there'. When they are not involved in and around the box then it's a sign for 'I'm not sure there will be a cross', 'I'm not sure we will come through on the wing', 'I'm not sure about this'. The more and more you feel this and the more and more you protect your offensive actions better than before, the more brave you can be in and around the box - that's what happened after time when you work together with a good side, what I obviously have.
