Jürgen Klopp admitted Emre Can's injury blow is 'not the best news' but the manager will find a solution to being without the midfielder for four to six weeks.

Ruptured ankle ligaments are going to leave the Germany international on the sidelines for much of the remainder of the season, though there is hope he could feature again in 2015-16.

The manager said: “It’s with the ligament in the ankle. But we will see. In this moment it’s not the best news, to be honest.

“But Emre wants to be back as soon as possible and we will try everything we can do.

“[Anyone] who saw the game against Dortmund knows it would not be too bad if we could involve him once or twice. We will see. There’s a chance. How big? Time will show.”

Klopp added: “It will take time, that’s clear. But if Emre is not there, we have to find other solutions; it’s not about moaning about the situation, it’s how it is. We cannot change it.

“Like always, we try everything to bring the boys back as soon as possible. It’s the last four or five weeks of the season. There is hope for a few things and we should not say ‘OK, his season is finished’ – because it’s not. We will work for it.

“But if he is not available, we have to find other solutions. We have to play in a different way, we have to give the job to different people and change the style. That’s how it always is. It’s not that we can only play like this.

“Emre was in really good shape. You could see he felt really secure, he was confident and he used his skills like he should. That’s really cool. But if he is injured, he is injured. We cannot change it and so we have to think about other things.”
