Attention is currently centred on Thursday night's clash with Borussia Dortmund but Emre Can insists Liverpool will not let domestic matters take a back seat to their Europa League ambitions.

In an exclusive Skype call with Reds supporters on Monday afternoon, the midfielder was asked what the team’s priority should be for the rest of the season.

The Germany international sees each competition as equally important and believes anything could still occur between now and the end of the campaign.

Can responded: “I think it’s both – of course to win the game on Thursday, and in the Premier League we want to win every game.

“Our target is to win the games and we will see what happens. You never know.”

On the Europa League front, Jürgen Klopp’s men are in a promising position in the quarter-final tie with BVB, following the 1-1 draw at Signal Iduna Park last week.

Liverpool’s No.23 hopes the team can secure a place in the semi-finals of the tournament with some assistance from their 12th man at Anfield.

“We want to win the game on Thursday, it’s our target,” Can added. “I think the result in Dortmund was a good result for us and we had good chances.

“1-1 is still a very good result against Dortmund because it is very difficult to play there, but on Thursday we play here at Anfield and the fans with the atmosphere.

“Hopefully we will win that game.”
