Emre Can will cut a frustrated figure as he watches on during Liverpool's next two Barclays Premier League matches.

The midfielder is set to serve a two-game ban after picking up his 10th yellow card of the season in last Saturday's 1-1 draw with Tottenham Hotspur.

Can will miss the visit of Stoke City to Anfield on Sunday, as well as the trip to the south coast for the clash with Bournemouth on April 17.

The former Bayer Leverkusen man reveals he has not quite come to terms with certain rules in English football.

He told Liverpoolfc.com: "It's very disappointing for me. In Germany, it's not like this, if you have 10 yellow cards [you get] just one game [banned] – but it's two games [here].

"But the most important thing is the team and I think without me it's no problem. We can win the two games.

"I'm not really good at watching football because I'm always happy when I'm on the pitch and I don't like watching my teammates, to be honest."

The 22-year-old made the move to Anfield in the summer of 2014 and now, in his second season with the Reds, feels more comfortable in his surroundings.

However, he says he must carry on with his development as a player.

"English football is so quick and you always have a player behind and have to always be 100 per cent concentrated," Can continued. "The players are very strong [but] I like the football here.

"I have to change some things. For example, I have to play quicker and be a little stronger than before.

"I'm just enjoying the time in Liverpool and I want to give my best for Liverpool always and for me as well.

"I think I'm in a good mood and in good form the last few weeks, but I have to keep going."
