Jürgen Klopp is in close contact with the host of Liverpool stars representing their countries during the current round of international fixtures.

As ever, a number of Reds were called up for the friendlies and qualifying matches taking place around the world, while the manager oversaw a warm-weather training camp in Tenerife this week for those remaining behind.

The trip to Spain gave Klopp the opportunity to work closely with the players still at his disposal in a relaxed environment, following a testing run of games so far in 2016.

But one eye is on the club’s international contingent too, with the boss keen to see them return to Melwood in healthy condition next week ahead of a hectic April.

Klopp told Liverpoolfc.com: “I told them that I want some messages and always a little check-up – ‘I’m fine, it’s OK’ – after the games especially.

“You can see a few games but you can’t see all the games, so you have to get all the information you can get and that’s what we want.

“Hopefully we get [some] very positive information and they come back healthy and we can start the finish of the season.”

Liverpool fans will perhaps take most interest in tonight’s meeting between Germany and England in Berlin, with up to six Reds potentially involved.

Klopp is not too concerned about the outcome, however, joking: “It’s a friendly game so I don’t care!

“I hope all of them come back healthy and in this European Championship [in the summer] I only have this problem if they play each other.

“But I always have no problem with Germany at the European Championship, but if England can get the title I’m happy too. Or if Belgium can get the title I’m happy too.

“We have a lot of players at the tournament and it’s easy to find a team you want to support.”
